An Experience

I called up my mom yesterday and she asked me not to eat non-veg (which I'm very proud of) for the next seven days because Navratras start from today. I asked mom if I can keep a fast for a day. Usually, we keep it in pairs. Either the last two or the first two or the first and the last. but I have to got to Mumbai for my second round of interview, so I cannot keep it in pair. My mom has a solution to everything. She said, "Ek tu rakh le aur ek Gudiya rakh legi". Good. Now what am I supposed to do. I should get up early in the morning and get some sweet and light some incense stick. The sweet should be given away to the temple or to the poor. Its the latter which I prefer. There is no better feeling than watching somebody smile. Also I should not eat much. Now this is tough.

I got up early at 10:00am IST ( 6:00 am *KST). Did the same my mom asked me to do. Then was on my way to office carrying a carry-bag containing some sweet and an orange that I bought for myself to eat. I love fruits. I was more than half way through and could not find anybody whom I can give those sweets. Then suddenly I saw two girls about 17-18 years of age with two children 4-5 years of age. I crossed them, still thinking about should I give it to them or find someone else. 100 mts, I am thinking. Another 100 mts, I am still thinking. Stop. I took a U-turn and approached them. I asked them if they would like to eat something. They welcomed my proposal. I handed over the sweets to them and was about to move until the little kid saw that orange. I said, "This is not for you kid"( gadha hoon mai). But then watching his cute face could resist myself. He was so happy to have it. There were smiles all around. They sat down on the footpath and enjoyed their meal. I enjoyed my smiling face. A real genuine one.

Cheers!!!
